How are the championship points worked out this year??

200 points for win, 198 2nd, 196 3rd etc..

Non members don't count for championships.

Ok thanks for clearing that up and it makes more sense then, is this the first year this is being used? As it was points for qualifying and points for final placing after non members taken out before.

I guess someone has to take a look at the current scores on the website as they are all to pot now. Rnd one are all wrong as are round 2, and there are lots of scores that are odd numbers instead of even as per Alexs post.

eg George has won all three first spec class events yet has 198 on his rnd one, and subsequent placings thus wrong.
Offroad I won round 2 and 3 yet it says 198...........etc etc etc.

Probably just a glitch but thought I would highlight it.

I'll ask Alex to check the championship points.

I believe he changed them to qualifying and final position, so 100 for A final Pole, then 100 for A final win.

I just checked back previous years, in 2011 we used points only from final position but in 2010 & 2009 it was points from qualifying and finals- 100 for pole, 99 for 2nd 98 for 3rd on the grid. 100 for A final win, 99 for second etc.

I'll raise the issue with the rest of the committee and see how we proceed from there.

Personally, points from qualifying and finals makes more sense. If you qualify on pole but get wiped out by back markers and your finals ruined, you ta least get something for your efforts.

FYI no matter how you work it out from the 2 ways listed above my points for the first round are wrong.
