We actually got good turnouts on these Saturdays. The committee is now considering shifting from Sunday mornings to Saturday afternoons, if it will increase attendance.
So, what's your preference? Let us know, regardless of whether you are a member - if you want to race at Cambridge, do you want to race Saturday pm or Sunday am?

Gents,

This Sunday is round 3 of this years Scottish Off-road Championship. It is open to everyone who races Off-road at SDRCC and all abilities, but please be aware of the following :-

You must be a member of the BRCA. This will be checked before you are allowed to race. Bring your membership card with you. This will also apply to substitute marshalls.

You must join SORC for £5, which allows you to compete in the series. (7 races in total) The race entry fee is £10 on top of the series fee. (£15 for the day if you haven't already joined SORC)

If you intend to race, please register your entry details on the "Events" page of the SORC website (www.sorcinfo.org) before Saturday. This will save a bit of time at booking in.

Lipo's must be charged in a lipo sack. You may be asked to leave the meeting if you are caught flouting this rule. But since we already advise of this at club level, there should be no new issues with this.

These meeting are a little bit more strict than our club rounds, but are still enjoyable with a good bunch of drivers, both young and old.

Go on, get yourselves booked in.;)

After reading the GT12 rules regarding 21.5 I was puzzled by the suggested motors as it seemed that apart from the speed passions they were not easily available in the uk. So I decided to do some digging regarding availability and also the use of mechanical timing on the motors of the EB list. The mechanical timing is a difficult one as it appears different manufacturer’s measure timing in different way. For example Novak set there motors to “zero” timing from the factory but it is in fact 30 degrees.

Suggested motor.

Hobbywing. At present I can’t find one in the UK but I’m sure that will change as CPD racing gets up to speed. Set to Zero timing.

Speed passion V2 and V3 Listed on Schumacher site and several model shop sites so should be easily available. Set to zero timing.

Novak SS Pro, Listed on CML site. Interestingly this motor also has adjustable timing. It comes as standard with 30 degrees of timing and can be adjusted +/- 15. It should therefore not be allowed as it cannot be set at zero timing.

Losi Xcelerion Listed as discontinued by Horizon Hobby USA but still listed by Horizon Hobby UK so I’m assuming it may be available from the distributor but again can’t find a model shop listing it. Can’t find any information regarding it’s timing.

Electric Board List

Vampire Ab+ Possible as it has adjustable timing but can’t find information on the range available.

GM Race 97421 Not allowed. Standard timing 30 degrees +/- 15 degrees adjustment.

Thunder Power Z3 Allowed. Timing can be set to zero.

Speed Passion Comp 3 MMM Not Allowed as timing adjustable from 11-20 degrees only.

Viper VST Not allowed. Standard timing 30 degrees +/- 15 degrees adjustment.

Tekin Redline Allowed. 12 degrees standard timing can be set to Zero.

Hpi Flux. Not Allowed. Min timing +7 degrees.

GM Pro 97361 Can’t find information on this but assuming the same as above GM.

Trinity D3 Allowed. Timing can be set to zero.

GM PRO 97301. Discontinued. No information available.

Speed Passion 3.0 Allowed. Timing can be set to zero.

I’ve tried to find this information out to the best of my ability but if you have further information about for example the Vampire or the GM it would be great to hear it.

Round 5 for Super touring, off-road and SPEC class.
I'll be there about 8:30ish. Remember we now have the large pop-up gazebos, which should make things easier.

I think it is the "cut through" track this time, so unless there are any objections we can run that for both TC and SPEC class.

Also, the club SPEC class car will be available, so if anyone has a friend/family member who is interested but wants to try before they buy, let me know.

Any questions, let us know.
