OK, so how do you guys do it?
The minimum weight for 4-Cell is 800g ready to run. I'm using the smallest and lightest radio gear, servo and speedo I can find, keeping wiring to a minimum and I'm still about 70g overweight if I use 3300s and a reciever pack.
How can I get the rest off? Are we talking attacking the chassis and suspension with a dremel or am I missing something blindingly obvious?
HELP!!!!

god knows but i need to make my trinity upto weight using 15g of lead.... without r/x pack that is.
if i run a r/x pack im a bit over
what car are you running? as like kieth and matt white said corally;s are fat...and sometime phat! lol ;)
Yep the Corally is a bit of a brick in standard form.
Having said that I know Andy Sawyer and Robin Hammett weren't far off the weight limit with theirs.
I don't know if the new rear end is any lighter.
Jimmy, you don't mention which car you have but I find one of the biggest differences can be made with the bodyshell.
If you have a lightweight shell and are econmical with the paint - it will weigh alot less :D - but of course it last as long :(
Also the size of the tyres makes a difference, if you are running new/big tyres the car will weigh more.

Was led to believe the other week that it was if anything a little heavier :o :o
Think the closest i got last year was about 820, but that was with Panasonic cells, much lighter than GP 3300's.
Although i have a cunning plan....................... 8)

Ok, here is the kit I have:-
Calandra chassis (most of the steel screws replaced with alloy ones)
Nosram missile speedo
KO mini reciever
Futaba S9602 servo
Merc body (standard weight but thinly sprayed)
Tires at 49mm rear and 44 front.
3300 cells
Krypton 12x1 motor
Do you ever drill / dremel the chassis parts? I've heard that some racers even drill holes in their rims before gluing tires on....

I know that to get close Andy Sawer gave up with a reciever pack which saves just over 20g but I cant get my Corally any where near the limit either.
It seems that euro weight limit is 840 so the corslly is designed to thet and Us limit is 800 so Associated and Trinity desidned to that.

Which weight do we usually race to at the Nationals?
What weight do most clubs have as their limit?

Std wieght shell would be heavy, and the cells are heavier than 3000's.

Regarding the cells, we race on a REALLY small and tight track. I have tried Panasonic 3000 cells and unless I run my 14x2 motor I have no chance of lasting. In fact I have to gear to last rather than gear to be fast.
Perhaps it is a case of that "thumb interface input error" again.....?
I find that dremmeling parts is lots of work for not much gain.
I took a bit too much off my old Corally chassis - turned it into a banana :-[

Thanks for the advice guys.
My next strategy is to "back" to my Panasonic 3000 cells but loose the reciever pack and use the 14x2 morof but gear it to buggery.
Unless I can twist Marcus's arm into letting me near his brushless......?
I'll let you know if the different cells work.
