havent tried it in a tourer only in a b3 buggy.

in stock setup it was geared around 8.2
in unlimited it was geared at 9.5,remember this was for a buggy with different size tires.

5.5 at Halifax! A rather large outdoor circuit, otherwise try around 6 to be on the safe side.

Theres one being run at Basildon (indoor, quite tight).

Gearing in a TC3 on 25/72 gives final drive of 7.2. Its quick....

The Novak Brushless is ‘fabby’!!! Been running it in my XXX-4 for a while now and it's scary fast, can anyone help with the gearing? If I change the spur gear from 92T to 90T and pinion from 22T to 21T what will happen? Will I get longer track time less speed or the other way round? Basic question I know just wanted to have it clarified.

did you have any problems fitting it to the xxx-s g+ ?. you don't happen to have any pictures do you ? - i am thinking about getting one for my xxx-s but was concerned about the size of the speed controller

Hello Nick

Look at www.teamnovak.com

There's installation pics of a "neat" install job in a XXX-s G +

JJ,

thanks for that - the novak pictures show the motor quite close to the speed controller - did you have any problems installing it ?.

any other install / running issues you have found ?

thanks

Yeah it is...

I have my speedo next to the servo as I don;t want to chop the wires just yet. I've used spiro wrap to keep them as neat as possible.

Install Issues - a little chunky but will fit in, I recommend not using the capacitor mount and to either bundle it up with the other wires (and secure with spiro wrap) or use double sided tape to secure it.

Running Issues - "speechless"

FANTASTIC!

Losi XXX-s G +
Ran indoors on tight carpet setup with front spool diff : amazing acceleration lasted for 17 minutes on a GP3300mah battery, 88t spur 22t pinion overall ratio 7.30

Losi XXX-s (Bogo standardo)
Ran outdoors on tarmac long flowing circuit, fast, with
a overall ratio of 7.00 88t spur 23t Pinion, ran for ever just to say warm.

Any other questions just pm or post them on here.

tested out brushless at batley outdoors with my cat 3 (before racing satarted)
its great !just need that instant exelleration toning down a little
gearing was 89 on a 22 pinion(8.09 overall) and i still think it needs to go higher it was just warm,

Just be carefull when experimenting with the ratios not to deviate too far from the recommended 7.3 to 1, as the speed controller will get rather hot if the motor is too lightly or too heavily loaded.

yes but that gearing is for touring cars ,the ratio you start from for off road is 9 to 1 on the novak web site

TOO LATE !!

Ran "Basil" at 5.96 88T 27 Pinion in my Losi...

Fast is a under statement....our track straight is one of the longest in the world !! see www.trcc.org.uk

Needed that pinion to accelerate down the straight as I was getting passed !!

Do the people in the USA not race 4 minutes on tight twisty tracks ??

Car was awesome !

Broke the track lap record for electric !!

"Basil says BUM BUM !!"

same club but off road

ran cat 3 with 89/24 (7.42) out door large track

ran cat 3 with 89/19 (9.37)indoor very small tight track

seem to get gearing right but when i came off speedo hot and motor luke warm, does anyone get that with using brushless off road?

normal gearing for cat 3 with 12*1 is 89/17 on indoor small track
