Hi,

I have a problem with my TC3 racer, the turning circle is not the same for both left and right, that is it will turn tighter one way than the other.

I bought it secondhand and pre-built. I have had a look at the front end to check anything obvious, nothing seems to be bent or broken.

I'm relatively new to this so if you could keep any advice in a format I could follow it would be greatly appreciated :D

Cheers
Paul

Hi
when i owned a tc3 i was told that there was a design floor with it.
apparently the left (i think) hub was grinding against the hub carrier or whatever causing there to be slightly less steering travel than on the right.
simply dremel off a little of the outside of the hub and you will get full steering.
sorry for the poor explanation, as i said i don't own one now
thanks Mike

Tuh.... Linkin Park - should be ashamed of yerself... ::)

Sorry, anyway, I thought it was to counter torque steer and it's meant to be like that?

that's Associated's theory. It saves them justifying the poor mould design in the steering.

i hav a tc3 and the steering from left to right is exactly the same. Anyway if u are having to use full steering to get round corners then u are doing somthing wrong. Either to do with your setup or driving style. If you have a computer radio try turning the steering down and letting off more into the corners.
Hope this helps.

If you go to CML's website then there is a note explaining it by Cliff Lett.

Thanks all for your advice,

Mike, I have just read that note from Cliff Lett, very informative.

I guess my car is built correctly then, I was just concerned there was something fundermentally wrong with it.

I'll work on the setup now and not waste any more time with the 'suspected' steering problem :-[

Cheers
Paul.

hey all!

im sure the sterings meant to be like this as it stops the stering rack from locking up! but it shouldnt efect it that much also have you set the servo horn up correct? as you are meant to have it slightly to the left.

cheers

Andrew
