I am new on the SD setup subject. But are this new rear hubs supposed to be the only way to get different toe-in at the rear?
I think the standard toe-in at the rear are 3° right?

cheers

No, the kit comes with mounts to give 1 or 2 degrees as well. These new hubs are just an extra tuning option, and allow you to do 1/2 degrees.

Not only that but the way a car reacts to the track is very different if the toe is inboard instead of outboard and different again if there is a mixture of both.

Safest car will be with it all inboard but it will not handle bumps. Put the toe outboard and you will have to use more to get the same response thus the tyre scrub will cost you a bit of speed but it will not react as badly to bumps.

Compromise is best. On road, more inboard than out, opposite off road or on very bumpy touring tracks / carpet.

Hi friends. Greetings from Malta.

I have just received my new rear hubs today, but intend to use them for a different reason.

As we all know, the Yoke, like all shaft drive cars suffers badly with torque steer. Having built dozens of TC3s - another one just this morning, I always wondered why every single TC3 I have built has more toe in on one rear wheel than on the other always more on the right. Even with the alloy suspension mounts you get the same.

I used to think it was a wrongly drilled chassis until someone told me it was deliberate. They all have more toe on the right to counteract the effect of torque steer.

So what I plan to do is put a .5 hub on the right and leave the standard one on the left, effectively giving the right rear more toe. I'll let you know the result.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

Yes I noticed the same on my old TC3, and I do have different curve ability in my SD. So I am very interested how it works for you
But going back to the inboard or outboard toe in - could you be more precise?
In my SD instructions there is no information how to change the toe in at the rear. Not even wit which parts.

cheers

The rear mount for the back wishbones is marked "R0+3". This is 3 deg toe. Replace with "R0+2" or "R0+1" for 1 or 2 deg toe.
