Hello,
I've got a standard XXX-S. Please could someone give me some instructions and part numbers on how to convert a regular diff into a spool.
Thanks,
David

You don't really need any extra parts for the conversion. Simply remove the larger diff balls from the pulley (leave the thrust bearing, diff washers in place) and tighten the whole lot up until you cannot move anything. There are spool pads available, I made my own.
Draw round a diff washer onto some 320 grit wet and dry paper. Do this 4 times and then cut them out. Glue 2 together exposing the rough paper and place them into the diff assembly. This should give enough friction.

Thanks Chris, I presume that after converting one to a spool I'd need to replace the spring washers? Also, does using sand paper mean I'd need to replace the diff pulley or does it grip it enough to not do any damage?
Thanks
David
