It looks a lot better than the HPI version. It is the first ever shaft driven xray! It has the same sort of chassis as a 1/10th touring car(deck chassis), but obviously a lot smaller.
It does look very impressive! :P :P :P :P :P

looks nice, but what about fitting the radio gear in?
doesn't appear to be much room, cells all down one side, motor will take up a far bit of the other, picture has no top deck.

what motors and cells do you use in these sort of cars i have never looked at a mini until now but the xray does look quite good fun although i have no idea where i could race it? Also do they use normal electrics (servo speedo reciever)?

Nathan
Batteries are either 4 AA size (not very quick!)
or 2/3rds A size Nimh or Nicads, normally 6 cells 7.2 volt.
Normal size radio gear will fit in the HPI not sure on the X-Ray.
Motors are similar size to Slot Cars.
As for racing not many clubs run them yet but Coastal Model Car Racing Club in IPswich run meetings every other week

The Xray T1M is NOT a 1/18th scale, it's a 1/12th scale very similar to the M1 Mini? in size I would have though. The Xray will take normal 10th scale motors, cells electrics and even wheels and tyres :o

lee xray have released 2 new cars ..the T1M which as you say is a 1/12th and will take normal electrics etc and also the m18 which is a micro (1/18) This is the one i was interested in. Thanks for the info barry i think ipswich is long way for me to go to race tho but im sure i can sneak in with the minis at my local club
I don't know if they are still available but there used to be some 1/18th Nascar shells, maybe Nathan could stick one on his? (if he gets it) could be the start of something in the Uk (1/18th Ascar).

The M18 will accept all the same radio gear, motors and cells as the hpi. Shells should be available and if you have any preferance they recommend you to mail x-ray with your top 5 list of shells!!!

the cars should cost about £99.99 and the electrics package consist of 5cell battery, micro servo, motor, speedo, which should al cost about £79-85 pounds all you need then is a receiver and a transmitter the cars should be out at the end of november and you can fit protoform 1/18th bodyshells onto them as well ::)

::)The M18 should beat the HPI Micro RS4 when they are compared fairly eg. stock 180 motor and six cell batteries in each. The c of g should be a bit lower & there is no belt to pick debris. This has become a real problem at our club with the RS4, suddenley the speed of the car changes and this is due to picking up debris in the pulleys or if the motor moves in a shunt making it tighter. Both these problems should be eliminated with the Xray and the rear suspension is fully independent so should generate more grip coming out of a corner. On paper the Xray wins hands down, we will soon find out....
