Hi all,
Could be getting one and was wondering what they are like. Are they similar to the SD in handling etc.
Also which allen drivers do you need to buy to work on the car. I already have a 2mm one for my BC special but I thought there maybe others.
Regards

Kriss.
2mm driver should cover the lot, apart from pinion and cvds.
SD SSG and CGM are very similar, and easily interchangeable if you have both chassis.

Dunno what the full spec of the CGM is, but my local modelshop in UK doing SSG for not a lot of spondoolies if cost is a consideration. (Admittedly I have Rayspeed on mine, but purely bought out of curiosity) Check out back page of RRCi for shop details. Then again, he's banging out CGM for even less wedge !!

I say GO FOR IT!
I've got one, and I'm really happy with it.
Easy to build, Handles well, You definitely go round corners with it! But at the same time, it doesn't oversteer either!
So very positive steering.
The only real difference between the CGM and the normal SD with double deck carbon fibre chassis, is that the CGM has a chassis that is a bath-tub type... Apparently much stiffer and thus less twisting of the chassis giving it a more positive and consistent handling.
Check out the latest copy of RRCi and you'll find it's a touring car special! it reviews the CGM special within its pages along with others.
Good stuff all round.
The only annoying thing I found, was the manual not giving any info or tips about set up such as tyres, gear ratios etc, just a blank setup sheet
(I hope none of this needs editing out)! (Sorry if it does).

P.s. hope this info is helpful

Sounds pretty good but looking at it there doesnt seem to much space for RX and ESC. I do have an M3 cube but I have an incredably large futaba standard 40meg RX. Will it fit?
Also does RRCi have a website?

It'll fit easily, just turn it on it's side (the reciever). Jonathan

You should look into investing in a XXtra Novak. You don't need recieving crystals due to a selector pin. It is also pretty small.
Regarding your car decision, I think that the CGM and the SSG are nearly identical. I have two people I know who run equal times with the same TC3 and Yokomo car. when they race, it is pretty even and normally very close. The race comes down to whoever loses control, or whoever can drive the inside line the most aggresively. I think the CGM did have some tweaking issues, but that can be solved by the AEast chassis, which I have heard is very good. I think the SSG though, is probably the better choice if you want to leave it stock.
Good luck deciding, both the cars are very good, might as well buy both...hehehe :)
Edit: thanks for the correction

I have been running the ssg for 1 year I run the speedo and reciever side by side as in the instructions and have never had any interference problems. It is the esist way to put the electrics in and so far has not let me down. Just keep the power wires from crossing the receiver wires and you should have no probs.

If you are going to get a yokomo kriss then get the cgm as it dont tweak or if you really want to go the whole hog the aeast is really good
mind you on my recent form i would be better off staying at home and playing with my hamster instead of racing so maybe you should just ignore me he he :D
