I just wonderd how much of an increase in speed this is over the original motor, i need a motor and need to no which one to get.
Also, what batts would you advise me to get and what charge rate do i charge them at, iv heard 1-1.5 amps, is this ok?
And if it helps, i have a team orion micro flash speed control.

well i don't know about the motor, but as for cells, i would suggest getting hold of some KAN 1050 NiMh cells. they are much more punchy than the standard micro packs!! give a lot better performance!
you can get them from a number of places but will need to make them into a pack as they come in stick pack form. I got 7 cells for about £18. PM me for a stockist!
i charge them at 2 amps and they seem to be happy!

Havcing used both the HPI & Elite motors there is not much differnce between them, the elite is cheaper and does seem to last longer!

i have just bought the £15 HPI Motor, and i have to say i am very impressed with it.. its much faster than the standard motor, its really putting my rear wheel drive RS4 to the test, but it still handles ok, the rear foams are almost dead now so i think it will go much better when i get the new foams trued and glued!!
its now totaly rapid, but a little overgeared i think, it takes a second to pic up outof the corners!! so a smaller pinion is needed i feal!

Approximatly, how fast do you think it goes with that motor and what ever voltage pack your using?
Also, could you PM me where spares are available, as i broke the front hub with the standerd motor and 4 aa batts : eek :

i would say (on my local 'large' track i would say that its almost twice as fast down the straights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am using KAN 1050 NiMh cells.. 7.2 volts, when you say break do you mean broke the little pin off the bottom, i did that to mine so i just scewed them to the wishbones with small self tapping screws. (no suspention any more!)
i got a set of aluminium ones at the lcoal club i could buy but this works perfeclty well!!!
i will PM in the next few days.. off out in a minute!!
