For a while now I've been thinking of kitting my Mission out with a full set of Torx head screws, because I cant stand Pozi/Phillips head things.

So I've been on the Schuey site and found the ones I need, and it would cost me around £20. (£2 for 8 screws :o)

So I've been on a site that sells screws, and I can pick up 100 for £2.68, all Torx head and made from low carbon mild steel, zinc plated and clear passivated.

Only problem is, they are 12mm long, which is ok, as most Mission screws are 12mm, but will it be ok to replace the 10mm and 16mm screws with 12mm?

Any advice welcome.

Well, you could always trim 2mm off to get it to a 10mm screw, as for longer, they are longer for one of two reasons, either it needs to be that long to get a nut in safety or it is that long to thread into plastic further for strength.

Cheer DCM, thats what I thought, and after all there are only 13 of the 16mm screws, so I may aswell leave those in.

They have been ordered now, saving me grand total of 15quid over what Schuey wanted! ;D

Yeah, they are M3 x 12mm A2 Grade Stainless Steel, and yeah, should cut a new thread into plastic parts. I will PM you the website now.

BTW, these are different screws to my first post, as the first lot will be no good. 50 for 2.84
