This is the summer 1/12th scale racing series you have been waiting for! Spend a few relaxing Saturday's with fellow 1/12th racers :D
Double Bubble will keep your thumbs in shape for next season. And you get a chance to play with the new toys due for imminent release (CEFX, 12L4....uuum yummy). 8)
Both tracks are technical in nature and by National standards are on the "cosy" side ;D
The dates are
Round 1: 15th May - MKRCTC
Round 2: 12th June – HWMSC
Round 3: 10th July - MKRCTC
Round 4: 21st August - HWMSC
Note that the MKRCTC rounds will be held at the "RacingDrome", 30 Alston Drive, Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes, MK13 9HA Tel 01908 579797 (the venue is marked as Doughboy).
Entry is £5 per round, payable in advance. Entry forms will be on the club websites over the next few days, either www.mkrctc.org.uk or www.hwmsc.co.uk

Martin,
We're hoping for a turnout of around 35-40, and are planning to run no more than 6-car heats.

Hi Dave
whats the format going to be?
How many rounds count for the championship?
What time will we start?
Are motors free or restricted to 12t?
I've run out of questions now!
Thanks for sorting this out, I'm excited already!

Let's see...
3 heats and a final (maybe more heats depending on numbers)
best 3 from 4 rounds to score
Doors open at 10am, 1st race around 11:15
Any darn motor you like, but I think a single wind will be too low
No bodyshell restrictions
Additive (oudorless) allowed
3mm ride height, to protect the carpet
Anything else?

Sounds good too me, 3 or 4 rnds with maybe 1 or 2 finals, BRCA format would be peachy.
Some of us lot from the South Coast are looking forward to popping along.

Would i still be able to use my Brm ball raced can with a 27t stock armature in? (for 6 cell stock)

Martin,
Yes, you would. The intention is to have fun, not be too strict on the rules. As a begginer we would allow you a load of leeway not given to top drivers.
Note to Mark B, no you cannot run a cobalt motor with 5 cells ;D ;D

Due to the lack of interest in this series, we are considering cancelling it.
If you are interested, but haven't yet sent off an entry form, can you please let me know without delay if you are planning to race. If we don't have sufficient interest by Friday 7th May, we will have to cancel the event.
Regards,
Dave & Brian :(
Dave
I am just about to pop to the post box right now. There will be two of us.
Here's hoping we get enough numbers.

Rob

Guys,
Unfortunatly this series hasn't received sufficient support to consider running it. Therefore we have been forced to cancel it. With the touring car season in full swing, I guess that this is where everyone's attention is. :o
I will be returning entry fees to those who have already entered.
Our apologies to those who were looking forward to racing. I am aware that High Wycombe will run a couple of 12th scale meetings over the next few weeks, visit their website for details.
Regards,
Dave

Thats a shame; I was looking forward to doing that! I think that a lot of people were put off when the chesterfield round was cancelled, as a lot of the drivers would have been from that club! I must admit, chesterfield was the one I was looking forward to, as I've never been there, and know its a great 1/12th venue! :(
How many did you have booked in in the end?

Many thanks to all at M.K and H.W who put time and thought in to organising the Double Bubble. I was looking forward to the practice. Better luck next time.
