Hi friends. Greetings from Malta.

We had a fun weekend of RC racing with a difference.

We went RC Drag racing. 60 metre strip. BBK timing. Good weather. Good entry. Wins for Yoke in Stock and mod. What more could one wish for!

In the stock class 5 brands were represented. The only CGM present won the final - and therefore the class, with a run in 4.71 sec. It didn't actually make the fastest pass in the class, but it won the final.

In mod I made FTD with passes in 4.40, 4.31, 4.24, and 4.23. Next fastest car was my rail dragster with a best pass in 4.30.

I tried running the Yoke with a One way in front and a locked diff in the rear but I just couldn't get it off the line. I eventually ran the one way up front with a normal diff at the rear.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

Hi friends. Greetings from Malta.

We ran a Christmas tree last year but found that the buzzer is better. Just think about it - do you look at the lights or at your car, at the start. Actually I have Rob Nelson to thank for that tip. It's alot easier to GO at the buzzer.

MOTORS. Up until recently I was running a 6 single with 10 cells (Novak Tempest OK on 10 cells), in the rail, however when I tried an 8 single and 6 cells it was quicker - simply because it was 4 cells weight lighter, so that's how we ran it on Sunday. I would have preferred to run a 6 but didn't have any.

On the SD I also ran an 8 x 1 Corally motor and 6 cells. We had our post race meeting pow wow in my shop yesterday evening - we always do on the Monday evenings after a race meeting - and everyone was impressed by the speed of the SD.

To cap it all, a CGM won in Stock too!

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

Trinity has a 8turn single drag motor, and it is a very good drag motor. It was specifically designed for drag racing (rails).

Jean.

I posted a reply yesterday but I must have done something wrong because it isn't here. Yes it's time we start thinking about another drag meeting.

Looks like a wet one tomorrow. Dig out your wet gear !

GENEM.

I had a Trinity Cobalt motor with a 6 single but frankly didn't find it any better than the Corally Pro Team modifieds we use in our touring cars. Perhaps I was doing something wrong, but I could have bought 3 Corally modifieds for the price of that Cobalt motor which is now just lying in my box of discarded bits.

It was designed for 10 cell racing. I personally dislike Trinity, so I don't blame you for using Corally. I've been using Corally/Orion hybrid ever since my D6 blew up.
