My old faithful Sanwa Super Exzes stopped working today. The unit won't switch on at all. Has anyone had to get a radio repaired, where did you get it done ? how much did it cost ?

Will try SMD when they open on tuesday as they are now the distributor.

Cheers

Worth trying Derek Bailey as well.

I had mine go down and the same thing as yours it wouldnt switch on. Apparently its a common fault (If obviously it is the same fault). Its more than likely the inline fuse needs resoldering the wire on. I sent mine I think back to the previous distributor (ripmax?) and had it back within a couple of days after sending it.

If you get stuck try Ripmax, they used to be the Dist. but they still have a repair service which I have used in the past which is really good.

Hi,

The new Sanwa UK distributor is SMD (Spire Model Distribution) which id try as you said :)

As Rc_Jammer said I think the problem is just the inline fuse

Mine has just done the same well last Friday. Can this fuse be easily seen inside?

I sent my radio to Mike Ridley at model radio workshop. Google it and you'll get it. It was the fuse that had gone. Cost me £15 to get it repaired which I think is excellent and he turned it round within a few days.

If anyone is needing a radio repaired I would recommend sending it to Mike.
