Is there a product available to remove the rubber particles of rims when the tyre has been glued to the wheel rims.

Cheers Charles. It did help. Don't really want to boil losi rims just in case they deform. Has anybody boiled losi rims to remove tyres.

yes, they boil quite well...

I have tried the 3 spokes and the dish wheels also. I use white wheels but would imagine the yellows would work just fine

From what i have found is that any manufacturers wheels boil fine but 3rd party wheels tend to deform.

actually, my experience has been with the off-road wheels, I have not tried the on-road wheels

I've got a big tub of acetone (£8 from a fibreglass dealer, they use it to clean the moulds) which has lasted more for 2 full seasons so far. Just dunk the wheels in and take them out the next day. Some of my wheels have been through this process several times with no bad results.

Boiled two sets today and removed all glue & rubber. No Buckled wheels. Well happy. Saved a few quid from buying new wheels. Cheers for the replies and help. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

all you do is buy a bottle of nail varnish remover which contains acetone. this will dissolve glue from rims or even fingers. just make sure you pour the acetone into an airtight container

Along the same lines as that.

I've heard that false nail removing solution does a GREAT job, as it's basically a super glue remover. Just a case of buying it in enough quantity to submerge wheels in.

Nail varnish remover!!! Just the sort of thing that I normally have in my pitbox! :P

NOT!!!!

Have to try the acetone though, Losi wheels are not cheap.

I tried using nail varnish remover on some touring car wheels. Removes the tyres fine.

Unfortunately there was another side affect though. My white wheels are now a lovely shade of pink :-[
