You'll be lucky! Heres a list of most of the lexan shells you can buy for a mardave;

Lexan
Clio 16V
Clio V6
Toyota Starlet (Mk1)
Toyota Starlet (Mk2)
WB Pug 205
BMW Mini
Golf Gti (Mk II)
Merc C class (old shape)
Sierra Cosworth
Ford Mondeo
Thunderbird Nascar shell (old shape)
Nastruck (although I havent seen one for years!)

So if you want a jap car its going to be a starlet! The BMW mini looks nice, as does the WB 205 and the Clio 16V. I use the Clio 16V, as it seems to handle the best.

Woah, dissagree..I have been running a Mk1 clio, 205, V6 clio, old starlet and new starlet - I rekon on the following...
V6 clio : very front endy - i.e loadsa front end grip (needs a win)
WB 205: tends to promote a little understeer and the front pops in too easy (scraping on the carpet)
Mk1 Clio: i didnt rekon was ling enough although did handle well (felt a bit like a V6 Clio)
Starlet (new) : too long, handled pony!
Old starlet: nice safe shell (wheels enclosed in the arches), although didnt feel as quick as a clio...

Currently running a 205 with wing, looks the danglies!

Don't forget that I'm racing on a circuit!

I prefer the clio 16V (Mk1) to the V6, and a friend has said he prefers the clio 16V to the old starlet.

I think its a case of getting used to a particular shell. If you try a different one and it feels different, you generally will think that the car is worse. I've stuck with the mk1 clio, and there would have to be a good reason for me to change!

Yeah, forgot about that,, I found my Hotrod more enjoyable to race on a circuit than the touring car, although it was very tight, and about the right sort of scale for V12's..

None of you Guys run wings, although I seem to make my car go faster with a wing... I rekon its a side stabilty thing, not downforce..

If I remember right, the V12 has a wheelbase of about 210mm?

That means you can use ABC Hobby Mini Zero-One bodies. They have a Datsun 510, Fiat 500, Mini Cooper, Toyota 2000GT, Lamborghini Miura and some others. Tozai also make 210mm bodies, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4 and a Subaru, and Kawada do a Porsche 956 and a Lotus Elan S2. And HPI used to make a Civic, but it was 225mm. HPI did a Mistubishi Shogun though.

ive seen that hpi civic its just like my real civic

v12 wheelbase is 205mm

2 options - get th civic and cut the wheels out wrong

or make a ally chassis a bit longer

will option 1 look bad
will option 2 ruin handeling?

any idea how wide that hpi is?

If you just started racing, I would suggest an ABS (white) 205 or a Starlet. as these are much stronger than the Lexan (clear) bodyshells, the Starlet has wide arches to you can rub the barrier a little more....

Mardave produce a very nice Audi TT for the V12 based around the DTM style touring car and that handles as well as the 205s etc.
I think it is only available in ABS at the moment. :)

My 206 shell is on it's way from kamtec...what sort of handling can I expect from that?

I liked my 206 shell, very stable.

I found it had just one problem, I was not the widest body shell and unlike the Starlet Shell I am using at the moment.
It did not have that much protection from the side around the wheels, and therefore got easily caught up in accidents / wheels getting caught up on the barriers.

I`m thinking bout using a 205 shell for this years Nationals.
