Which one do you recomended
Also which speedo do you use in your car. Would a micro like a Novak Spy be any good

I use the protoform speed 8, although the nissan P35 and the corally mercedes are also popular. CEFX also have a new open cockpit shell out, although I don't like it very much!

As for speedos, I'm not really clued up on the Novak range. I use an MRT VX sport, which is great for the job.

When buying a speedo, consider these things;

1. It cannot have reverse, as this is illegal in 1/12th racing
2. Try and get a relatively small one
3. Try and get one that doesn't weigh too much
4. A speedo with different power/brake programs is always good for setup options.

For being small thats why i thought of the Novak Spy, but its geared more towards the 1/18th scale cars. The Nosram Evo I use in my 10th scale cars would be good only it's a little expensive. How much is the MRT

Don't mention it!

All of us on here are willing to give help and advice. All you have to do is ask! ;)

Do you want me to drive the car as well?! :P

Where do you race anyway?!

Ignore that last question.... I've just been on your website!

Ireland is a long way from where I live! (near oxford!) ;D

Yeah but you get an excellent night out over here so it would be well worth it ;D plenty of the Guiness and plenty of the ladies. You should have come over for the Titanic cup 3 days of racing only no 12th scale.
Would'nt stop me from coming over to the main land. So you never know may get you to drive my car one day ::)

Trouble is, I'm only 17 and I haven't passed my driving test yet! :(

Get a lift to the Airport/ Harbour and there would be a Cheffuer (probably spelt wrong) waiting for you at the other side ;D
The Irish hospitality is tops

that'l probably be a ginger chauffer...... ::)

edited to get back on course..... : the CEFX shell is pretty groovy. only slight issue i had ith it was the very low height of the side pod made it difficult to get an accurate representation of driver's paint schemes.... lol

Would a micro like a Novak Spy be any good

No, its for Micro cars which are smaller than 1/12 circuit cars.

to quote from the Novak "Spy" instruction book

• MICRO SIZE MOTORS ONLY Use only motors that are
intended for use with 1/18th scale or smaller R/C cars.
Never use larger than a 280 size motor (1” diameter/3-5 watts).

Gary - I'd put in a vote for the Nosram Dominator/LRP Super Sport (?). The ND is under 75 notes over here, and does a very good job in 1/12th. You can also use ot for TC 19t stock, and 12t at a pinch. HTH :)

Thanks Peter

I have the Nosram in mind. I run 2 of the Evo's in my 10th scales and as the Dominator is only £75 would be a good solution. Too many cars and to many Speedos to start forking out £100+ for another :o
