hello
i was looking on ebay the other day and saw someone had converted their mr4tc custom into an sd ssg, it still was belt driven and the motor was in the same place etc, but it had the sd ssg carbon fibre chassis, so i was wondering whether or not anyone knew where i could get one of these conversion kits and how much they cost?
thanks

It's not anything new, the MR4TC SSG Special was used by Masami Hirosaka at the last worlds, one year before the SD was released.
You can get the conversion kit in the US or in Japan.

You can get the chassis in the uk. It is distibuted by CML and you should be able to order it through your LHS

Unfortuantley I cant find a price or part number, however i know you could get as I had one I think it was about £120 for all the chassis parts. I am sure I will be corrected :P

on the cml website, go to yokomo touring cars under the yokomo section when you first click on it it will show you the GT4 and it is MR-4TCS Hop-Ups section.
ZSSGC SSG Graphite Japan Nationals Conversion Kit £64.99

it is only for the special as far as i know but a worlds version may work, you can pick up a special very cheap now as the SD is out! i have seen one at about £190!

it is still a good car but the one on ebay has more upgrades that you get on a special chassis.

If I remember right, wasn't the car called an MR4-TC Special V2?
It was around the time Chris Grainger re-signed. I remember it well, as I wondered why he would go back to the old belt TC. Then a few weeks later the SD was announced. I guess he had inside knowledge.

The Special V2 doesn't have the SSG parts, it's still the normal "special" moulded chassis.
The differences were mainly in suspension geometry - funnily enough, very similar to the kit SD settings...
