Hi All,

I'm thinking of getting a Yok CGM kit.
As I'm invariablly going to ram it into a barrier at some point I want to make sure I have some spares from the onset.

In everyones experience what are the most commonly broken parts I should make sure I have a couple of?
....Also any parts I should upgrade straight away?

thanks in advance.

Doom. Greetings from Malta.

I ordered all my CGM bits from CML the day I pm'd you, and received them all on Monday.

Fausto. Go for it. Great car at a great price.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

One of the other guys told me the CGM has the same spares as the SD SSG?

Joe, when I went up to CML last week, they didn't even recognise the part number! >:(

Have you had any SD202G?

The CGM has all graphite parts. Most of them are the same as on the SSG and Black SD, but the material is graphite and CML still does not imports any of the graphite parts for the SD.

Yes Doom. Got them with last week's bits. Invoice dated 11.03.2004. In fact I got all the CGM specific parts.

COBRA. I have had graphite SD parts from CML on quite a few occasions......especially wishbones!

I spoke to CML late yesterday afternoon.
It seems their back order system isn't worth the disc space it's stored on! >:(
They have had "a few bits specific to the CGM" in stock, but don't have much left. At least my customer is going to get their steering parts at last. ::)

Ok, despite CML not stocking the graphite parts. I saw this quote on another string.

Check through the gallery in Yokomousa, there are two pics of an SD with TC3 alloy knuckles, hubs and wishbones. Looks a good idea but you risk translating the force of an impact to the chassis which won't be cheap if you damage it.

I've gone for MR4 alloy steering knuckles and will be getting MR4 alloy hub carriers and alloy wishbone mounts. I'm leaving the bones plastic so if anything breaks it will be them which I have a supply of.

sounds like a good idea to me.

not a good idea at all. One crash and your nice wishbones are bent, and no longer useful. Better break them and change them.

And all that unsprung weight. But it is shiny. ;D

I only but USUFUL stuff to the car and stuff that acutally affects the handling.

Keep the wishbones plastic as he says and you have a point of failure before the chassis..........don't you?

Same thing they do with cars. The parts aren't all steel, there is a variety of metals used.
