Hey

I'm a complete n00b at this so bare with me here. I'm buying a 15 turn motor for my Tamiya TL-01 chassis, I am using the sport tuned gear hop up on the car. I currently have a 19 tooth pinion on my stock motor, My question is, Can i use the same pinion on my new motor or will i need a different pinion gear?. I want a fairly balanced car, top speed and acceleration must be fairly equal because i don't race my car atm i just run it up and down my street. If i need a new one could you recommend me one.

Many Thanks

Dan

As far as im aware, the TL-01 chassis will only accept 19/20/21 tooth pinions due to the motor mounting positions. So you don't have a great deal of choice anyway. What motor is it?

its a Team Orbital 2-R Pro BB 14 turn

Well you need to ballrace the TL-01 chassis to safely run that motor, and i would say the 19T pinion would be ok for it. Any higher and you will sacrfice acceleration and obviously you can't go any lower.

Hey

... so bare with me here.

Do I have to take my clothes off to answer your question??!!!!!!!! ;D ;)

As well as making sure you have the car ballraced, make sure you fit the optional heat sink/motor mount. That power of motor will get hot, and may distort the gearbox moulding.

LMAO!!!, I am assuming that the motor mount/heat sink comes with the motor, or do i have to go out and buy that.

Many Thanks

Fraid so my friend, nothing is as simple as it seems. By the way will your speed controller cope with a fourteen turn motor?
