I have just got a second hand TC3 with spares. I was told it had a one way diff.

However when I stripped it all down I cannot remember which of the four diffs were fitted to the car. How can I tell which is the one way?

As my son is not the most experienced, and will be running a new car I dont think he will be able to tell when driving.

or it may just be fitted into the rear and well....... i think he'll be able to tell then, and i'm sure you'll know about it after the race if it is fitted into the rear.

If you hav 3 normal diffs and 1 way and you cant tell the diffence then you havnt got a 1way. The centre will be blue and as s2 says the outputs will pull straight out. The diff ring is screwed on also.

Thankyou Phil C.

I have obviously been conned

Never mind, it was not a major selling point, and did not intend to use it.

Oh well if your a beginner i wudnt suggest a 1way anyway as they make the car difficult to drive and things are broken more easliy. Mainly driveshafts ::)

With the one way you should be able to turn the main gear. It's not necessarily anodised blue. I have an early one which is just silver. You also do run them indoors sometimes to pull the front in.
