A good reasonably price modified motor would be a Team Orion Orbital 2 pro BB, it is priced at about £30 and offers very good performance. It has adjustable timing, bearings etc.

They are not the absolute cheapest, but are exceptional value for money, I would go for an orion orbital 2.

<edit he he Tom, you beat me to it, but I couldnt agree more>

kool, i found a team orion havoc 11x2 for 12 quid would this be decent? the lowest wind in a mtroniks i could find was 15x2. oh and a Team Orbital 2 Mach Mod 12 turn for just over 20 this was only a single i think though? would this still be fast enough?

Just be warned, the MTroniks Vision ranges are not BRCA homologated.

The Havoc range are very budget!
Non-rebuildable, bronze bushes machine wound.
Just remember, you get what you pay for!

Listen to Dom, and buy the orion orbital 2 BB. If you look after it, it would be easy to sell if you dont continue with modified.

Orion also do the Rush which has ball bearings, i had one, would be ok just to try out mod racing but wouldnt be very good, spend the extra tenner or so and get a motor worth having.

There is a range of budget motors from CML called Echo who do a 12 double.
Rebuildable, adjustable timing, ball races
Similar price to Orion ProBB2

Gordy, have a read of the BRCA Electric Boards guidelines on the BRCA website. It's all explained in there.

I have two Orion Orbital Pro BB motors and they are superb - I find the springs a bit soft though....

Mind you the extra £20 I had to pay for my Orion Core was worth it.......... :D
