i have got a reedy Kr 12x2 and i race indoors. when i first brought the Kr, it was incredibly slow. i replaced the brushes with some trinity sprint ones that cost about £3.45. i must admit when i put these brushes in its like a rocket. I was just wondering weather there are any enduro brushes that would still go as fast, just last abit longer, but not be as dear. Any ideas?

Thanks, Brett

You are kind of after the thing that avery racer wants. Unfortunately power comes at the expense of life.

The best "club" brush that i have found has been the Enduro (10/30) compound Orion brush.

yes, i use the orion 10/30's in my core.....but in the Kr, the brushes are the lay-down type!

LRP do XmaxT7 burshes in lay down now.

These are superb. check them out on the LRP website and look under 'products' then 'blue factor'

how many runs do you want out of them?

IMO when i ran the KR;s last year i found them to be very hard on brushes. i ended up running a re-cut CS power brush, simperly re cut them to laydown and they are good for about 30 runs no probs, but you will have to skim still though ;).

Is it safe enough to use any laydown brush in the KR motors without getting excesive comm wear? Cause using some of the higher performance stock motor brushes could be quite potent i would of though, but i'm reconning it could ruin your comm?

I found the standard quasar's were about the best in mine (12x2 too) :P

The KR's are good motors but seem to eat brushes and be reasonably high maintinence, my 12 needed skimming/rebrushing every meeting, the 10x1 was every 1-2 runs :o

yea, i must agree that they do need quite alot of maintinence....and brushes dont last long in them....but they are very fast ;D

The laydown quasars are caled actrons Rich.

I tried a few brushes last year on my KR 12*2 and also found the Reedy ones to be the best. Comm needs regular skimming, like every 2-3 runs on a very fine pass but in doing that I found the brushes last quite a while, by which I mean 2-3 meetings with 6 runs a meeting.

Personally i wouldn't try any of the real high performance stock brushes, as i think they would just smoke the thing!!!

when i use my KR 12x2 i use trinity4499's the comm needs skimming every4 runs but the brushes have lasted 4 meetings so thats 16 runs at my local club, to run these brushes you need to not run very much timming or you need to skimm every run.(i run 1 notch from standard)
for example i turned up the timming to max and skimmed the comm for 1 round of qualifying at my local club. and ran it it was balistic, seta time 2 laps quicker that anyone esle :o although needed to et the motor skimmed after the race ;D
