Was wondering what was out that can accept Lipo stick packs.
Obviously the Cat SX/2 is an option as is the HB D4 but what else is around and competitive.
Cheers

I don't think there's much off road support on this forum as most of the off road racers use a different one.
In terms of cars, you have the ones you've mentioned plus the Predator and any of the Tamiyas and the kyosho ZX-5, the ZX and the Tamiya 511X seem to be the most competitive at the moment, but the Pred can also work quite well depending on how the driver likes it. Cat also does well, though seems to be a bit uncool with some right now, same for the HB.
Cheers,
Chris..

Mark, slow is particularly looking at Li-Po stick pack which does limit his choices somewhat.

personally as good as the durango looks ill not be paying that sort of money for a 10th scale electric, i didnt pay that much for the MBX6 so forget paying more for a 10th, plus i have seen far to many durangos for sale already that cant be a good thing, by the looks the cat sx/2, kyosho zx5 will be ok after looking at the D4 its saddle also, i want to run stick lipo so i dont need extra packs between the tourer and off road, the 2WD runs stick no probs so fits in with the tourer set up just need a 4WD now.

Tamiya DB-01 is an excellent car for off road and uses stick packs. Mostly touring stuff here, but google reviews on Keen Hawk and TRF501x or Jimmy Storey you may find other more off road orientated forums.

i dont mind spending but when you race more than one class you have to be careful how much you spend on each, have also seen the lrp S10 but ive only seen rtr so far although a mid and pro level look likely to follow but the car looks good also
There's always the Tamiya Durga DB01.
It's the plastic/budget version of the Tamiya TRF501x/511 and apparently works very well.
A previous post here mentions that well known off-road forum, which has a very comprehensive review of it. It'll give you a look at it and help decide.
At big meetings, you'll probably find shops at the events have Schumacher spares. You'll have to carry your own set of bits if you run anything else (bar the B44).
B44 is by far the most popular 4WD and I think any model shop attending an off-road event will carry B44 and Cat SX bits first, then some of the others.
Best advice I could give, is don't buy a car to suit the batteries you've got, if you plan to try and progress in the class.
Buy the same car that people you race with have. Parts are easier to "borrow" from friends, plus if your's isn't handling right, you've got advice right there, right then.
Sorry - just clocked that Makinwaves mentioned the DB-01 (Durga) already! Doh!

Hi,
well there is some rumor about new LRP S10 Blast BX. It is RTR but with some nice options you can find on high end models only. I myself will take one just to try. I have HPI Cyber 10B. It is very nice car with good performance, very good balance that helps in jumps, it accepts stick LiPo, but... you have to put more money to get it to competition level, parts are expensive and not easy to find...
