I'll chip in with the Orion Orbital Pro-BB - a machine-wound modified that is indecently quick for its price, and very tough. If your need is for club racing, I rate it as one of the best all-rounders I have used. Cheap as chips!

If you are seriously into TORC, Schumacher BTCC, Nationals, etc., then Scott's list is the one to choose from.

Reedy Kr kick ass with the quad magnets in. U just gotta get the r8 brushes in them. Wen i first got my 12x2 the brushes in it were crap. I got some sprint 1's and its fine now. Very fast ;)

The KR is the most powerful motor I've ever run, the punch you get from the 10x1 is astonishing :o
Higher winds like the 12x2 are very smooth and controllable, and the motor's run quite cool. The problem I've had with them is they need skimming/rebrushing all the time, with the 10 is was pretty much every run, the 12 lasted about 5 runs for me then it's rebuild time :P
The other problem I've had is the magnets falling out on hard landings, happened a couple of times now and I know a few people it's happened to too. The 2 magnet motors have the agnets glue'd in and then have a spring between the magnets to stop them shaking loose, on the KR/PT the magnets are held in with glue alone.
Remember to gear low to let em' rev, they like that a lot.

Gotta say, I do like the Peak Vantage motors. I run a 10 x 2 and a 12 x 1 in my XXX4 and XXX. They are ballistic and dont require rebuilding as often as others.
I have also had the magent problem with the Kryptons and will not be buying any more, even though they are a good motor.

Saying that, I have an LRP Fusion Phase 5 9 x 2 that is also ballistic.

My advice is go for the Peak Vantage or the LRP Fusion Phase 5 series.

Corally Gold 12*1 high torque, just bought one we'll see how it goes on sunday compared to my Core (too bad I blew my almost brand new 12x2 matrix armature, I'm gonna miss it :'().
