I'm such an idiot and really angry with myself for being an idiot!

I've just shelled out £xxx on a KO EX-1 UR 2.4Ghz system with KR 408S Rx and me being impatient decided I'd try to have a mess with it by hooking it up to my old nitro car before my new ESC arrives to go in my TC.

However, I think I've blown the circuitry by connecting the Rx battery incorrectly, a small puff of white smoke is never a good sign:mad::mad::mad:

Does anyone know the polarity of the 3 pins marked 'BAT' on the receiver? I've trawled the net, and my instruction manual, and I can't find the information I want anywhere.

If the worst has happened, does anyone know of a good repair service for KO stuff or am I looking at forking out for a brand new receiver @ £100+:(

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks from a now disheartened returning RC'er!

All receivers are wired the same way these days.
Middle pin is positive.
Pin closest to the edge of the Rx is ground.
Pin closest to the middle of the Rx is signal.

The "bat" socket is the same, but the signal pin is unused.

If you get the 2 outer pins the wrong way round, it won't break anything.

Thanks guys, I guess that's all I needed to know, middle pin is positive.

I'll have another look when I get home later to see what's what.

I guess they don't have in-built reverse polarity protection if I got a nice micro cloud of white smoke out of it then?!

Expensive lesson learnt!

Anyone know a good UK based KO repair dealer that might be able to sort it out for me?

some will have a reverse diode that will let you get away with plugging it in wrong only once,if you plug it in a 2nd time it will go up in smoke.

i would try it again wired correctly,if it doesnt work then dave baileys dad used to repair ko things.

Ok thanks very much.

I'm going to try it tonight on a mates ESC and see if it works or not.

Does anyone have contact details for Dave Bailey so I can make some enquiries about repairing it? (Total newbie here! :o )
