I've just bought a Mini T ;D

I'd like to use my 40 meg and have a Novak Spy ESC and a KO 301F receiver. However the standard servo has a 4 wired connecter ??? Can I modify this to fit the KO receiver or do I have to buy a new servo as well? What does the orange servo wire do?

Thanks

You do need to buy another servo.

Hitec HS-55 seems to be the most popular choice, it's a close-to-direct fit, you can even switch its output gear with the kit servo to run the servo saver.

I think the servo has 4 wires because part of it's electronics are inside the speedo/rx unit.

Ian,

Sosidge is correct about the Hitec servo. I know there are a number of people who have done this mod, including myself.

You can buy the Hitec HS-55 for around £12 to £15 and then swap the main output gear with the mini-t one. The only problem is that the mini-t servo and horn is hexagonal, not splined. This means that you will not be able to centralise it WITHOUT the use of trims. IT will be a fair way from centre !! Personally, I would leave the trim pot alone and use the digital trim in the menu of the Vantage to centralise the servo. This way you can re-trim the steering during a race if you bend a track rod !!

all the information seems to be there. I run a HS-55 in mine too.

One more bit of information for you , don't throw away your top gear from the HS-55 as Losi have a 'proper' 'splined' servo saver in the pipeline.

there is a bit of modification I had to do to the case on my HS-55, its just simply removing a 'stop pip' in the case.
