First, which belt is good for what e.g stock belt, or the flexy belt thingy ???, and why does it make a difference with stock and mod racing. (hope you understand that).
Also, on the mission, where do you mount the reciver, im having problems with the mountind, due to my speedo.
Theres a clicking noise comin from the spur gear, i have taken the layshafte out, rebuilt and put it back in but theres still clickin coming from it, also, when i accelerat, it sounds as it the spur is striping (its not tho)
One of my shocks is leaking, these are the standerd shocks, and when you pump the shocks, it starts leaking from where you screw it on, and from the part where the shock rod comes out the bottem. I have rebuilt this aswell, but when left for a few weeks with no action, i come back to find theres no oil left in it.
All these aply to the mission. ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
Good luck understanding ::)

If i am right the stock belt if grey and softer whick makes it alot better for stock racing but can sometime to to soft for mod and so sometimes snap.
As for the shock you may have ripped a seal where the rod comes out of the plastic piece and it may also not be tight enough in the shock body

thanks for the reply, and its definatly tight in the shock body

The grey belts are better for stock because the backing allows them to flex alot easier. They grey rear belt should not be used for Mod (or19t??) because it will snap easily under the added power, but I believe the last Mission kits are being supplied with grey main belt because it is ok(?)

The grey front belt is fine for mod but never use the grey rear belt in mod, both grey belts are fine for stock. yes the MI2's are supplied with a grey front belt.

With the spur gear which mount are you using? The one that allows you to use non Schumacher gears can get very close to the hole in the top plate that the spur gear goes through. I had to widen the hole by 1mm on mine.
With the damper I would just take it apart and start again with new O rings if necesary.

The shocks. take them apart and inspect the black `O` ring is it still in one piece. also sometimes when rebuilding them it may not be seated correctly.
The clicking sound you can hear could be a small stone or a piece of glass that has gotten embbeded in the teeth of the spur or it could be a burr on the pinion have a look.
The reciver can be mounted on the top deck but have it towards the front, but watch out it doesnt tought the transponder when you body shell is in place. you also could mount the reciver on its side next to you ESC.
i had the same problem with my shocks and i found that i wasnt pushing the compensators in enough, make sure u push them in till they click, after this they were still coming out so i put a tiny amount of glue where they click in and now they dont leak at all and i get great performance out of them and rerly have to rebuild the. also make sure the big black 'o' ring is on the out side of the shock seal housing and when u do it up the ring shouldnt b showing and should b as tight as u can get it.

Just to slightly hijack the thread ;), how often is it recommended you service the shocks? i've done mine once when I got my threaded bodies but havent since.

Andy, they don't need doing that often, it depends a lot on the track. Certain carpets pick up quite a lot and some of this gets into the seal housings, this does damage the action and hence is when they need re-building. It's hard to put a time on it.

hey
Ive got a question for you team drivers. How come you drivers dont use the schumacher springs and shocks. Ive seen loads of drivers running the tamiya shocks and associated springs! why is this?
Cheers

this is mainly because using associated springs etc, allows use to fine tune our damping, the schumacher springs have large jumps between stiffnesses and this makes it hard for us to fine tune.
as for the tamiya shocks, they are incredable!! they just have so much travel. this means that when you put them on your car you get about 4.5 - 5mm uptravel on the shocks. they ae a very nice piece of kit but remember that you will have to buy new shock towers to fit them on correctly.
there is nothing wrong with the standered shocks that come on the car, many team drivers still use them, me for one. just that there is better out there and some people want the best! ;)

what shock towers will you have to fit then?

Colin when running the associated springs do you need to add any spacers inside the shock? as the associated springs are shorter than the schey ones!
Cheers

If you run spacers inside you will have no droop!

no they fit on fine, but you will have to use sring spacers as the screw down bit on the shock will not go low enougth. (if that makes sense). there is no need to put spacers inside the shock as matt said!
as for the second question schumaher do a pair of shock mounts that are designed for the tamiya shocks, sorry carnt get you a product number as ive lost me price list 'Matt?????' ;D
hope this helps
