It's been suggested to have a 'spec' tyre for the GT10 class, particularly for the Nitroflight Challenge series, any thoughts on this ? Is everyone in agreement ?

Hi Peter, no problem with a spec tyre if we make it one of the distinguishable ones from CRC and BSR. Lets allow both to be run.

We want to attract as many drivers as possible so why restrict tyres. There isnt that much choice any way. So keep it open.
The spec tyre I think is the Jaco Lilac all round.
All spec tyres are easy to spot the bsr have a purple ring round them and the jaco have a carbon effect rim on them.
There about as many compounds for gt10 as 12th just bout, you just struggle to get them over here!
I will be running just spec tyres what ever every one decides, mainly to keep costs down and because they work great anyway

Im 95% certain i will only be doing the 1/12th as dont really want too fork out £16 every meeting, also might be a bit hectic doing 2 classes.
As mentioned spec tyres work fine but there is no advantage using any tyres so no need for any restrictions.
I ran the Spec Jaco Lilac last time and they were fine. Also ran with Pink rear and purple and d/pink fronts and couldnt tell the difference apart from wear being nil on the spec tyres.

Trying to make it a level playing field:) so as I'd already said to Jason it's up to the drivers, I'm happy to go with the majority

I think most GT10 racers will have one of the spec tyres in there boxes (BSR CRC or JACO) so if you said any of them I think it would be ok. But it needs to be decided asap so people know and can sort them if required

I agree with Vince on this one, no need for a spec tyre.
For the winter series/nitroflight Challange,
we have no control tyre for touring car but must be rubber
1/12th we run what works at any stage in the day
GT10 most people will be running the BSR/CRC or jaco anyway
Lets keep it simple and keep the costs down for everyone :)
