I can't adjust my slipper tight enough to stop slipping. When i tighten it it gets to full and won't move anymore but the spur gear is still turnable by hand. Does anyone know why this could be?
Thanks

Not sure whats happening with your slipper but there is a how to guide on xxx4 slipper tension on the losi site i think.
Also my slipper will sometimes work its way loose during a race, any ideas how to fix that as well?

Hello Both,
Ian - I am not sure what the problem could be, I would suggest a full rebuild of the slipper unit as per the book and double check just to make sure.
Alex - From what I remember, when I used to try and run a little slipper on my xxx-4 it would tighten up as it is a wrong handed thread ???

Chris,
I thought that it would tighten up as well! one thing i have noticed is that before it starts to undo the diff starts to become notchy and loud?
Do you not run a slipper then?
How about trying some thread lock?
Thanks
Alex
Alex,
It seems that most people lock the slipper up tight and only use it on slippy tracks.
I can see why you would do that.
I would not use thread lock on it as you may need to adjust it at some point later. My advice is the same as Chris's. Take it out, strip it down completely, clean everything and rebuild as per the instructions, then try again. Make sure that you place all the bearings and shims in the correct order, including the spring washer.....
If you want to come down to High Wycombe on Monday 8th, I'm sure that either Chris or myself can find a bit of time to assist you with this or you could come to Watford on a Thursday, but not this week !!

I run a sipper in my car as in there is the slipper unit still in there.
however, it is tight, it will slip a little if I happen to land with the power on to cusion the drive train but other than that it does not have a function. not even on slippy tracks.

I rebuilt the slipper again and still the same thing happens ???
I have noticed the the slipper plate on one side is pushing up to the spur and the other side is not as the white flanges are sticking out further than the spur gear. Is this normal?
