Hi,
Lets say I cannot race for a while...say 12 months...are any preparations needed to safely look after a car and electronics whilst in storage? Should it be stored in the house rather than garage? Any problems with rust or moisture? Or should I not worry and just expect everything to be ok.

1st thing is to stand it on a block so all 4 wheels are off the ground, then brush out all the dirt & crud & go over everything with a wipe of white spirit to clean it up & then if you like spray some WD40 onto a cloth & wipe the car over. You could also take the electrics out & store them in something like a biscuit tin, but it is probably just as easy to leave them in the car.
Personally i'd always store the car indoors, it may mean you need to put a shelf up or clear some room off the top of a cabinet, but it will stop the mice nibbling your tyres & such which will happen if you leave the car outside

I don't think you need to do much.
Definatley clean the car and if ther's any chance of moisture a wipe of screw heads and metal with WD40 will be a help.
I'd also remove the shock springs or unscrew the platforms so there is no tension on the springs at all. If you can get some silica gel bags to absorb any moisture in the box that will help the electronics a bit if there's any risk.
Tyres in an airtight container or snap lock bag.
And no sunlight.

Take off the wheels/tyres and put them in an airtight bag.
If you can, do the same with the car and put a couple of those silica gel packs (the little bags of crystals that come in electrical goods) to absorb any moisture.
That should be it.
I remember having a 5 year break from racing years ago, then chucked it down at a local club to try and sell it, ran fine all night.

You should sell your Cells/Lipo as after yea they would be dead, then a year down the line just buy a new Lipo.
Depending at what level you race at, if you race club then you wont need to do much more maybe stand chassis on a block, and take shocks off.
if you race at a higher level id advise just totally stripping your car.
Thanks Luke,
