Got off the fence and just bought a GT10 ,after much deliberation decided to go down road of Single cell Lipo.
Now have everything but a voltage regulator.
1.Servo to be a Futaba 9650
2.Esc Tekin RS
3.Spektrum 2.4 receiver
4.Cell to be LRP VTEC 4800 3.7v Needed a charger.
5.Shell have 2, both proform Sophia and Corvette Not my choice of colours but bought them ready painted Got a deal for both.
6.Gone for the Jaco Controlled tyres Lilac all round.

Motor yet to be decided. Have choice of 5.5, 7.5 and 10.5.
First run out will probabley be with the 5.5.

Just waiting for a tyre arbour and voltage regulator and away we go. Should be built and finished by friday.

Did you by any chance get the shells off mr ball? I bought the mulsanne shell off him, if you did don't worry the paint scheme is totally different!

Are you planning on running it up at stocksbridge?

Which one you gone for ??
Why not run 10.5t ?? geared right it will be plenty quick enough ;)
Just ask PDW he can beat my 2s 17.5t down the straight at Chesterfield

Voltage regulator ? should that read Booster ??

Not supprized really, if you look at the Kv ratings on a 10.5 and multiply your 4.8v in compared to a 17.5 at 7.2 there a huge difference in rpm. A 13.5 is closer but unfortunetly in the 13.5's favour, just my take on things, I would think the 17.5 is gona come off hot too coz of being on the throttle alot more.

Doesn't come off too warm, after watching rob's 2s 13.5T and PDW 4.8V 10.5T the 13.5T is a rocket ship in comparison.
But after running with Chris on sunday during the shoot-out I could hold him off through the twisty bits but had no chance on the straight, 2s 13.5t is very quick

I like how the 17.5t performs and will continue to experiment with gearing.

Be carefull about the KV ratings of brushless motors, most are total drivel and don't take into account the motors power band.

Novak for example quote;

4 Indicates how fast the motor will turn for a given voltage given no internal resistance
which nicely tries to defy the laws of physics!

Another number we have come to learn to ignore. Add it to the battery capacity, C ratings, any other number on a NiMh label and servo speeds! Ho hum... ;)
