Hello

i notice that motors need a lot of "TLC" in order to keep them running as sweet as when you first buy them.
i cannot afford a comm lathe, new brushes all the time, or to have it sent off every month for a full service..
as you can see, I NEED A JOB ;D

But would it be a good idea to run my car with something like a tamiya sport tuned motor. the balck can with the gold writing along it.
would these be a lot more user friendly so i can just plug in and go without having to worry about skimmings etc.
i am willing to loose the extra power i would have with running a 16 modified
thanks for reading (and i look forward to any comments)

I've run an Orion Core Stock with the same brushes and without a skim since January and it's still running OK. Performance has dropped off noticably, but it runs ok, and I still have the option of getting it skimmed and putting new brushes on it and have it run better, which you wouldn't get with the tamiya motor.

The only thing you really need to do regularly is clean the insides of it and keep the bushings oiled.

A handy purchase may be a comm stick just to give it a wee clean if you dont have a Lathe

Yes...get a comm. stick....they do the job and are a LOT cheaper than a lathe although the quality you get from using a comm-stick is not as good when skimming the armature. (big typo there!)

i believe they are only around £4 in most shops (sorry if this is breaking any rules) but if you want to know where to get one. P.M and me and ill give you the details.

cheers,
