View Full Version : rolling/tipping
i have a mission and i race on tricky, tight carpet track and on most corners i am tipping or rolling, obvously this is wasting a lot of time and possibly lost me 2 places the other day. is there anyway to stop doing this.

I'm sure the pros will have something to say, but i'd say harder springs, less camber and lower ride height, oh and maybe slow down?
Surely not harder springs, and i only have 2 deg camber rear and front.

Thing is, if you car is rolling then the weight transfer will shift more and tip you over. I'm pretty sure that a low ride height and stiffer springs will help. I run 1deg front and rear now and I get more grip than I did with 2 deg rear, plus the tyre wear more evenly.
i see what u mean, but if its TOO tight then it doesn't roll at all and just tips, i think you have to get it just write.
What springs do u race with.

Generally i would agree with Andy, however if you go too hard on teh springs then it will just "sit on top" of them and there will be no weight transfer and it will then roll.
As i always say to people with set-up issues, we are going to need to know what set-up you are currently running to try and come up with anything really useful.

Right, I also race on a small, tight carpet track, on T27 tyres.
I run:
1deg Camber all round
2deg Rear toe in, 1deg Front
45wt shock oil with the piston set to 2 holes
Middle hole on shock tower
Red springs front, Blue rear

Cheers for that. It hasnt arrived yet, but it'll give me another excuse to fiddle with my car!
this week i am going to run softer springs all round, i will tell you the difference it makes.
David
This week i put red springs on the front and blue on the back, this was perfect for my set up and i didnt tip once, part from wen i crashed.
Cheers for all ur help anyway.
