I think I'm right in saying, the thicker the T-bar the more oversteer you get. So, it depends what your handling is like.

The thinner t-bar will give you more rear end grip, and will reduce how fast your car chages direction. Use a thin t-bar if the layout is fast and open, without too many chicanes and slow corners.
I ran a thick one at wickham this weekend, as the carpet was really grippy, and the layout was a twisty one. Therefore, the thicker t-bar gave me the fast chages of direction that I needed.

Ok then seeing as i have olny raced 1/12 5 times and im still pickng it up(ask any one at WB lol, one man final lol) i dont think it matters to me lol, but i might get both and see how they go. ay WB the track is manly used for 1/10 and is quite fast and open. i will go for the 63. seeing as ian has raced at WB and knows about tmy drining lol, and the track.
thanks for the help.
Michael
I am not sure it is quite a simple as it used to be. Roger M and I raced Wickham using .063" T bars, as did many of the Associated guys. I had no problems with transition. Mick Farrell used a .075" t bar, and his car was not noticeably better than any of us.
I would advise the .063" T-bar, and then tune to the track conditions with the centre screw. I ran without for the first time this year, and got more steering - the opposite of what you would expect! The .075" T-bar makes for an aggressive car, and limits the tuning possibilities IMHO.

right kool, i think i get it now lol. i think i will buy both as then i have them if i need them. i will then chat to the 1/12 at WB on sunday and see what they are running. Rogerm and Mike have both been to WB a few times latly so i might see what they say as well as ian and matt lol.
to Be honest wouls it still make a diffrence to some one like me, who has only done 4 race meeting with it and still learning , even know i am getting better and alot faster that i was lol.

I watched the b final, and mick farrels car did seem to change direction very quickly. Through the final chicanes on the lap, he seemed to make up a noticeable amount of time, where as other cars such as yours pete didn't seem to have that sharp initial turn in. His car also looked very stable on fast corners. Maybe it was his driving though, I'm not sure!? ???
Mark, I am sure that driving style means more - Roger M was in the A Final, Mick was in the B Final. However, at the previous meeting, Mick was TQ!
I agree mine looked (and felt) a bit sloww going into corners, and again I was very happy in the chicanes as that is where I made up a load of time on others in my race!
I still think the best advice is to start with a .063" T-bar, as this gives more options. There is more fine tuning to be had from ride height adjustment front to rear than the significant tuning of a T-bar.
But then again, if you can't drive..... LOL ;D

I hate to join the great t bar debate so late in the day but for the record I ran the 075" (thick) t bar to win at Wickham on the Sunday.
Having said that I ran the 063" (thin) on the Saturday and finished 5th.
Personally I prefer the thick t bar as it suits my style better (a sharper turn in). It is equally important to get the damping and springing correct as this also makes a big difference in the way the car handles.
If you run the thin t bar then I prefer to run a stiffer centre spring and thicker shock oil (say silver spring and 40wt oil). With the thick t bar it's 30wt oil and the green spring.
I hope this all makes sense.

I ran the thick t-bar all weekend, with 30wt oil and green spring. I had 0.020" springs on the front, as I found I was getting too much turn in with the 0.018's.
On the saturday my car kept wanting to spin out going into the hairpin at the end of the straight. On the sunday, I was advised by glyn ward to put some lube in the roll stop to increase the damping on the rear, so I filled it with silicone grease. I was amazed at how much difference it made! My car was easily the best its ever been!
Michael - could I politely suggest that you stop laughing? It makes you difficult to understand, and with all those tears of laughter, it may be why you aren't driving as well as you'd like!!!! LOL ;D (Oh, bugger - now I'm at it too...!!)

He won't be laughing if he can't get a t-bar before sunday! lol!
Perhaps you migh be able to help him with that pete..... he can't get one from a model shop as he doesn't have access to a credit card! I told him that mick farrel might have one if he was racing at west bridgeford on sunday!? ???
