Whats that noise ???

I have just started racing a TC3 and have noticed some times you end up getting a clicky noise which goes away during a race. When I first heard the noise I thought it will just be something in the pinion or spur gear but I found nothing. That wasn't the time to have a complete check over of everything as I had to get to the starting grid. I finished the race and went to collect the car and there was no clicky noise. I have asked a few people who race TC3s if they have ever had this problem and they say it happens to them to. I couldn't find anything in the drive train when it happened to me ??? Does anyone know what it is and how to prevent it??

make sure the pins that hold the driveshaft together at the universal joint are all the way into the cup.

They are right in. The thing is its only occasional because you will do your first heat no noise but then when you go to the second heat haven't changed a thing it is making a clicky noise. It doesn't affect the performance of the car but it really annoys me not knowing what it is.

Make sure that the R clip used to hold down the rear of the battery brace can't get anywhere near your spur gear - seen a guy strip down his diff trying to get rid of the noise before he realised what it was!
