Hi every body, I write from Mexico City .Recently I bougth A new Cyclone TC, but unfortunatly I cant gearing it well, because I am confuse , before I had an old HPI RS4 pro and it has different internal radio 2.1 :1 and the cyclone has 2.16 :1
We race in asphalt and we use motor Tamiya Sport tuned Black
Before I use 115 spur and 37, 38 pinion with the RS4
What relation gear can I use, to get the same or aprox with the Cyclone tc. Thats because I feel the motor too hot And I afraid of fry it.
I will really apreciate your help
Thanks A lot.

There is practically no difference between 2.1 and 2.16 but if you want to know how to backwards calculate the equivalent pinion then do the following:

The final drive ratio in the HPI RS4 was:

(115 / 37) * 2.1 = 6.52

So the pinion to use in the Cyclone TC should be:

115 / (6.52 / 2.16) = 38.09

or 38 tooth.

If the motor is too hot in the TC but was not in the RS4, then check for binding in the transmission that might be adding extra load on the motor.

Tim.

Hi thank you for your help.
But I forgot to say that the TC only fit until 110 t spur gear so, I am confused if have to get the same radio gear as with the HPI -
Thanks again.:)

No problem, just substitute in the maximum size spur gear. So the equation becomes:

110 / (6.52 / 2.16) = 36.44

or 36 tooth.
