Yes Dale, RP24's are ok to use on carpet, i have been using these At my local club in Cambridge. They might over heat(you might hear a squealing noise), but they are better than the CS22's i used to use.
I did use Sorex 28's at my last meeting and they were fine also.
My car is a Xray 2007 using a 27T Motor
If this helps?

Hi i found vtec 27 are the best for all round grip.I found with the 24s i lost grip towards the end of my race.A lot depends on the carpet(high grip or low grip).
i run a xray 007 with a 19t motor

you may find you get grip roll as the carpet grip comes up threwout the night, our club uses rp30's which seem to be the best at the moment.
However if you do get grip roll, try glueing the outside rims of tyre and rim, this stops the rubber from moving over when going round a corner. But make sure you dont actually get it on the surface of the tyre!!
