View Full Version : Battery placement in T1R
Hi,
My son has just acquired a T1R and I have been building it up. Last night I put some batteries in it and was not too happy with the layout. The wire connecting loop was at the front of the car and passed over the top of the belts. Is this the best layout option for the batteries, or does anyone have any other experience that could help.
I run a TC3 so don't use saddle packs
Cheers

I tuck the connecting loop between two halves of the saddle pack, underneath the belt. My packs are all soldered so that the wire falls in this position naturally.
So does that mean the wire loop is at the back of the car, and you feed the batteries through from one side ?

The link wire is usually towards the front, except for one pack which fits slightly better with the link wire at the back. (must improve soldering skills)
Yes, the battery is fed in from the side. The wires which connect the battery to the speedo are above the belt.

I have the - wire over the top deck, it's attached with a tie wrap. the wire from the speedo to the receiver is also attached to the top deck with a tie wrap (I have my receiver on top of the servo).

I have my battery wire going over the top of the belt (as I use to run a TC3), and it seems a lot easier putting them in + out, as when I soldered a pack up with a short wire, I found it a little more difficult to get them in + out :P
Thanks for all the input I have opted to go with the link wire across the top, because it is easier for my son to do.
Cheers
