So, a long Christmas break, tear the xray back down to kit status and put it back together. Great, all ready for Sunday, then, doh! I can't make it on Sunday. Never mind, see you all the week after.
Tesco are out of stock of 2" masking tape, so if anyone sees any on Saturday, buy 2 rolls, just in case Martin can't find any on Saturday.

Just to say James and I had a good meeting, some very close racing.

A good meeting with close racing everywhere it seems - I know that there are about 3 or 4 of us at the front with only a couple of seconds between us. Looking forward to the next race now I've taken out the one way and put in a spool in the front (which I've been told should be quicker), hopefully it won't take me too long to re-learn how to drive the car and hopefully my front driveshafts'll forgive me!

James managed to get 27 laps in the first C final with his HPI Sports 2, and after i sorted out gearing with a 27t monster motor and reset my radio, i got 30 laps in the 1st and won the second with 31 laps. My best result lap wise for ages.
Just hope this wasn't a fluke.

Yep - some impressive lap times. I always like the quick ones - I think that is only the second time where I've got 34 laps on a track at Milton.

I've got a big sheet of 2mm yellow high-impact plastic to make some new corner markers for Over. The idea is to make some lollipop shapes that retain the tubes while discouraging drivers to drive over the actual corner marker.
Anybody fancy having a go at making up a design, let me know and you can have a chunk

John - do you remember the corner markers at Chesterfield? They worked rather well I thought - just a radius of yellow plastic with a second layer of carpet on top. You could clearly see the corner, you didn't go so close to the pipes and they just slowed the car down and unsettled it rather than crashing and possibly breaking it.

I was planning on a straight copy, with some way of attaching the tubes to the disk

As this Sunday is the last Milton meeting for summer, I'm planning on racing up at Risby, this side of Bury on some Monday nights. Went last week and the racing isn't bad. Leyton and James G usually race there. Track is a similar size to Milton but much less grippy! 2 heats of touring stock cars. If anyone else from Cambridge or near the A14 is up for going I'm happy to car share and split petrol money. :)

Anyone got any spare packs of old cells with Corally tubes to lend to a potential new racer on Sunday. May turn in to a sale!

Our last booked race meeting of 2009 is this sunday, 13th at Milton.
I'm just booking next year's races and the Centre has offered us Sunday 20th December too. Please reply here if you want to race on the 20th too and we will gauge numbers to see if it's worth booking the extra Sunday

I'd probably race on the 20th - I'm afraid that I can't come this Sunday due to music commitments.

Humm, the Results Index page links don't seem to link!
If you right-click on a race and Open in another tab or Window they do work
I'll try and work out what's up

I've tweaked one file and it seems to have fixed the problem (for me at least).
So, James, tell us more about being A finalist

We have added one extra race on Sunday December 20th at Milton to the calendar - this was not on our original schedule.
Same times as normal - pass the message on to all and see you there

hi everyone my story is here:
my first trip into the A final was awesome want to know how well it was made up in heat 3 when concentration game worked as per usual even know i got took out at the start it took 21 sec on the 1st lap but i had power and aggression and i concentrated for the rest of the race and it was lonely race for me but that good because i would not have to dodge people and some weird thing happened to the results i was 3rd overall in the tables so i decided to use my dads pack of 4200 and 4600 and got 3rd in the A finals which was cool but aggression was a big part of my driving style with lots of concentration with a fast car
James :)
