The only Info I have is it will be in Holland on the 21st/22nd February 2009
and run by the fryslan club .. http://www.mscf.nl/

It will be at the Racing Expo show in Leeuwarden..http://www.racing-expo.nl/

which is worth going to even if your not racing.... its like a smaller version of Autosport Show.

And we stay in Auke's pub ..Het Grauwe Paard in Oude BildtZijl.. which is about 10 minutes away... http://www.hetgraauwepaard.nl/

there is also a B&B across the canal... and Auke can arrange a room for you if you contact him.

Check out the photo's of the pub from our last visit http://www.hetgraauwepaard.nl/week7%20en%208/

and yes I was wearing a green wig playing Air Guitar to status Quo...

The bangers are just something to do at the end of the day.. its not taken seriously.. they are not even BRCA legal- ie not mardave based.. they make their own..and the guys that race are only really into stock cars

Don't need European clubs to host a Eurpoean lol. Just extend an invite to all international racers from Ireland and Holland etc and get a nice big hall, nice fast track and we'll all turn up and have alot of fun :)

cheers

Well its 4 days to go before the Stock Car Worlds in Holland... and everyone is getting ready for the invasion.

There are 17 brits racing, so we have a fair chance of bringing home the title... but its not a forgone conclusion.

British favourite has to be National Points Champion - Ben Harding, having been in contention in previous World events... but even then we have Urmston racers Anthony Wyper, and Gary McMullen(a previous world champ) who could do the business on the day.
Outside chances have to go to Rich Harding and Mark Cooper, both very good drivers who win regularly at club level.
But with 7 other red tops from the UK, we have plenty of backup.

On the Dutch side, European Champion - Maikel Rutten, is a fair bet, but there are others who regularly challenge. MBCLobith members Koen Middelkoop and Neik Middelkoop, along with MSCF members JITSE MIEDEMA, JELLE BIJLSMA and EVERT JACOB KLOK, have a real chance of making it an all dutch final.

Along with the main final, there is also a Junior world title up for grabs, former European Junior champion - Nick Cooper is the british hope, but won't be alone with Josh Smith making his first foreign trip, and should put on a good show.

What ever the outcome, I am sure we shall be handing out some good bumper work, and of course the evening socialising in Auke's pub - drinking Rocket Fuel.

Most of us are travelling over Thursday / Friday.. so we get over the "jet lag" time difference :) and of course to partake in the party atmosphere..:D

Not only do we have the racing to enjoy, but the Expo show in which we are situated promises to be good. Last year we had pole dancers to distract us from our woes...and previous years they actually hand painted naked ladies... :D... oh yeah.. there are also cars on show and a live action arena !!!

Well all there is left ot say is good luck to all those travelling, and I will see you in the pub on Friday evening.

The British invaders are :-

Rugby drivers
Ben Harding, Rich Harding, Mark Cooper, Nick Cooper, Paul Riddel,

Urmston Drivers
Anthony Wyper, Gary McMullen, Pete Ayris, Carl Baker, Gary Osbourne, Stewart Smith

Hathern Racers
Allan Inness, John Gould, Mark Williamson, Josh Smith, Lee Bishop

Spedeoval Racer
Paul Barnes

Team Manager
Geoff Needham.

Ok,

D day has arrived, good luck to everyone that is making the trip to compete in the Worlds event, not everyone will be succesfull, but so long as they have a great time as I'm sure they will, then they can put it down for experience and use it another day to become a better driver.

Before you set off, please check you have everything you need, including passports!

See most of you tomorrow at Auke's.

Yes the boy done well,

And not only did he win the Junior title, he also progressed through to the semi-finals, so he came home with 2 trophies! His final position was classified as 10th place. My racing ended at the 1/4 final stage :'(

Now for some silver ware from the saloon side of the section!

However, a big congrats to all of the Brits that made the trip, it was another fantastic meeting and social weekend, also hard luck to Gary McMullen and Stewart Smith and Anthony Wyper, all three had some bad luck, especially Gary and Anthony during their semi-finals.
