OK have just bought some new tyres and wheels and have noticed the tyres are a very tight fit on the wheels, such that using tape or evo stik is going to be difficult at best.

Will superglue do the trick (peel back tyre and put a spot on at regular intervals) or has anyone got any better tips?

I use superglue.. I insert nozzle a few millimetres between the tyre and rim and run it around... wait to dry and then do the same on the other side...

I also usually stick myself to the tyre.. the rim, the work bench, and anything else i come into contact with...!!!!

so be very carefull...

Get some special tyre tape from Andy, stick to rim, spray inside of tyre with brake parts cleaner then slip it on. Once brake cleaner has evaporated the tyre is stuck.

or leave the tyre on the rim for a little while this will strech it an make it easier for evo stick thats my method :D hope this helps

yup, what macca said ^^^

I use double sided selotape, run two strips around the wheel as its only half the width, spray inside of tyre with brake/clutch cleaner and slip on. Evaporation for the nation:cool:

all the fast boys in hotrods do it. thats fact. Andy Ak modelsport does them that way too. So pretty much anyone at the club will have taped on tyres Dave. Best thing is that you can re-use the wheels. Superglue is just hassle going on and hassle coming off!!!

Dave,

make sure you spray the brake cleaner on the tyre, not the tape.

Yep, I leave the tyre on the rim for a few days before glueing it, then it's easy with evostick. Wouldn't trust tape on a Stockcar, although it might be ok.
