I have a standard xxx-s, at full lock the wheels seem to vibrate and make a horrible noise. I have discovered that it is to do with the cup on the CVD and the ball stud which locks into it. At full lockthey pinch togeather. Has anyone had this problem? do you have any ideas how I can fix it? Thankyou.

Hiya mate there r a few ways to tackle this problem either limit the steering throw on ur transmitter or if u cant do this then stik some rubber to the drivetrain tunnel near to where the arms touch the chassis this will limit how far your steering turn and should solve your prob ;)

I have limited the steering throw, on the servo horn, ie a shorter one. And am now reaching a barely acceptable lock on the wheels, however it is still flapping and banging. Its really annoying hearing it buzzing round the corners. I might end up gettin a new car!

Yeah I do have standard ones, the black steel ones. I have considered that but at £90 for the four thats a good chunk towards a G+ or a yokomo SD. Did you have noisey standard steel ones?

I knew someone that had them they were noisy! ::) The mip ones are only a tenner each so £40 a set a good investment if it saves you changing your car as the xxx-s is one of the best. :D

Hi Guys, the problem is one that exists in most of the TC's from what I understand.
it is the CVD running past its efficient working angle (normally past 30 degrees) this problem also seems to be 'amplified' when using the spool in the front (are you using the spool?)
my car has the same problem but it not really noticeable when under load on the track.
PS - have a look under the FAQ in this section for more tips/explainations for Losi cars.
Hope that helps

Hello Jonny,
You actually ned to limit the steering slightly on the steering knuckle side to stop the wheel chattering. If you do it on the tunnel side the wheel can still bounce to full lock.
The best wat to limit the steering the correct amount is to glue a washer over the bump on the inside of the steering knuckle.
You can just about see it done to David's car in this link;

Hope this helps,

Do you mean glue it onto the hub carrier to stop against the front spindle. I think I have the words right.

You need to glue it to the knuckle arm, the bit the steering link attaches to on the wheel side, not the castor block. You can see where it is on the picture of David's car just (just in front of the steering link). I do think Losi call them spindles and carriers, don't know which is which!
You need to position the washers on the bump on the knuckle arm, Losi just made it a little small, this is why you get the flopping inside wheel.
