I have run a standard sst sport for about a year and a half now and to be honest was quite chuffed with it overall, so I decided what the hell the mission is now reasonable I'll get one. The thing is I raced it last night and did'nt have much practice time so I missed two races fannying about trying to increase the handling, because to be honest the way the set up is changed is not a million miles away from the sst, which was i pain in the a**e. I wasted one race changing the front caster, then another changing springs and shock position. Anyway the set-up I ended up with was still pretty poor. So any ideas of and good benchmark for a slippery surface.
REAR.
I'am running 2 degrees in board on the rear
2nd postion on the shock tower
black springs form sst
zero camber
FRONT
0 degrees toe out
postion 3 on the shock tower
grey springs from sst
4 degrees negative(standard ) camber

No anti roll bars are being used as the circuit does not provide enough grip to warrant there use. A set of yellow pins, and a 13x2 motor and the 17t laymount pulley with standard 86t pulley and 17t pinion.
And also it was built and taken straight to the circuit, so I just chucked the diffs in (the right way round) and they just don't seem right with the sst I ran them a bit looser than factory spec. Any pointers on the diff prep would be handy. cos the noise they were making, were embarrasing!
That's the end of my moan I just hope someone can supply me with a good standard setting to work off, Or I'll probably wish I would of just saved that extra money and bought a xray!!

Cant comment on a set up as I dont drive one, but I know that when set up correctly they are alot faster than your old car, presumably you are using pins on a wooden floor or polished surface. good luck.

Never raced a Mission on polished floor, but what is actually wrong?

Most cars when you get them need a few meetings to set them up correctly.

I would suggest 4 degrees front camber is way to much. Also normally cars run with more rear camber yet you have Zero! suggest you run 1 or 2 at the front and 2 at the back.

You are running the softest springs yet have the shocks set more upright which increases the action making the action stiffer.
If the track is flat get the car as low as you can, with stiff springs around 4mm

DEpending on your problem
I would run the shocks on the inboard holes, maximum castor ie all the spacers at the front, track rods in outer holes 1 degree front toe out, 2 or 3 degrees rear toe in.
This should slow the change of direction.
It might even be worth trying harder springs to make the tyres work more.

Also try the 20 tooth pulley as this should decrease the acceleration a bit, normally everyone runs the 20T.

Be gentle with the throttle, turn the rates right down on your transmitter or fit a rate switch if you haven't got one. Bits cost £1.67 from M*****s.

Anyone else got any comments?

I haven't ever run my mission on slippery floor, although i used to run my axis on floor quite a bit.

If i was going to run a mission i would start with a set-up something like this.

45 wt oil, 2 hole pistons, blue springs all round.
Top mounted in middle hole, bottom in the inner. Same shock settings front and rear.

2 deg rear toe, 2 deg camber

0 toe at front, max caster, 1 deg camber.

Also seems like you are well undergeared, but that would depend on the size of your track.
