Hi All,

Sorry for the thickness of this question, but what the hell do the torque rods do????

Do they work? Should I keep them on the car??? Blah Blah Blah!!

Cheers

They add strength on the front suspension. actually, they do work, they provide a lot of steering, but you have to set them very precisely.

Most drivers don't use them anymore (and that does includes me) as the new front anti roll bar doesn't allow to mount them, and the car have plenty of steering even without them.

??? unless I've got the wrong end of the stick (and ignore me if I have!)

The torque rods are those adjustable links running from the top of the 'C' hubs to the upper deck... If thats what you are on about, these are designed to prevent rearward deflection and as Cobra says; 'add more steering' owing to the accuracy and precisly held angles that they promote.

I run them on my TB Evo3 owing to the fact that it has 414 suspension geometry, I like it, but I'm not good enough a driver to tell you whether or not it makes a significant handling benefit! ;D

yes it stops it rocking but most are glad they are there after a crash!

i put mine on to help reduce the loads of play in the front suspension...

I must admit, that although I can't tell the difference i handling, the front is rock solid with them on :)

Found i needed them on the EVO III but not the EVO III SE for some reason, must be something to do with the thicker chassis on the SE keep the suspension geomertry more rigid.

I can say that I perhaps need to scratch the chassis a little more to see if that is the same for me!

Truth be told, the SE was a far more 'settled' chassis right out the box and in kit settings, so I'm sure you're right. ;D

I've got both the 414 and the SD, there's no slop in the suspension of my SD ;D

I told you the 414 is one of the best cars out there...

Aye I know :)

Had to fit RPM ball ends to my SD to get rid of the slop!!!!

Very impressed by the 414, now Considering the 415 when it appears on the 28th feb!!!!!

Looking at getting a 414 as i just like the look of the car ( not sold on the looks of the 415 ) so if anyone has any advice about these cars please feel free to post it.

May not get to use it much though as my sponsored drive is the one i will be using at all my main meetings.
