Hi All

I've recently brought back to life my Hyper 7 PBS which has been sitting on a shelf for about a year.

After carrying out a 'shake down' to see what state it was in i soon realised that although it started ok the engine would 'bog down'. I cant seem to get passed half throttle without it bogging down.

If I maintain on the throttle at halfway or beyond the car simply stalls.

Given that you guys have some years of experience in not only Buggies but Hypers in general, or perhaps more specifically their engines, what do you think it is ?

My first thought that it could be that i'm running it too rich ??

I havent had a chance to re-tune it.

I'd also noted that it wasnt accelerating very well. I'd say that there was more engine revs/noise than acceleration which didnt seem quite right. I'm sure it ran better in the past. I'd even won a race meet in this setup

I had purchased one of those filters which sits between the fuel tank and carb. Could it be this maybe ?

There seemed to be plenty blue smoke under acceleration however.

I do have another question also with regards to Servo's I'm running the stock PBS servos and was wondering which to upgrade to. I'm currently using an analogue radio set at present.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

If the car has been standing for a while it may be worth stripping and cleaning the carb of any sticky residue using a carb cleaner and changing the fuel lines.

You say that it seems all noise and no go - try checking the clutch isn't giving a problem as well

Cheers BigBob for the advice.

Can you recomment any particular carb cleaner ?

bit of a newbie to buggy'ing despite owning mine for over 2 years...not as much playtime as i'd have liked !
