Hi,

I was just wondering if anybody could tell me whether the speed tuned gears work properly in the TL-01B baja champ chassis. On the actual list of hopups it says it can be fitted and i know how to fit them etc. but i just wondered if they stripped easily due to the bumpiness of the off-road conditions....???

Also im running a Reedy Quad-Magnet 19turn motor in it and it flies with the standard gears in, im just looking for the extra speed whilst keeping the car (im only thrashing it about in car parks etc so i dont really wanna spend £200 on a B4 or XXX).

I already have 3000HV cells, good quality ESC, bearings, carbon shafts and prop shaft and other stuff like oil shocks and the upgraded suspension pins..

Thanks for any help.

Having tried the speed tuned gears in my Baja I would advise against fitting them. Although the gears look similar to the standard items they alter the gearing slightly, and match that to the large off road wheels your acceleration will go through the floor.
Fit them to standard TL01 with the smaller road rims the difference is amazing.

Thankyou for that....

I just needed some advice as i WAS planning on getting them.......anyway no point of me getting them now to improve/decrease acceleration becuase the nosram patriot reverse has a small button which enables you to turn down/up the amount of punch you get from your motor..........heheh its cool..

ok cya,

Thanks for the tip Shawn,

I got the speed tuned gears in my Road version of the TL01 and it flies.

I was going to try it in my Baja at some point but I don't think I'll bother now.

with a nosram patriot reverse and the speed tuned gears i have every hop up imanganable for my baja champ running a 10t quint at the moment and with that little button pressed boy it flies but i wudnt recomend it for any serious off off roading just the occasional hill or two ats its likely to rip your gears apart
