Any Micro Clubs Up North?

I'm just interested to see if anyone knows of any clubs in the North or upper half of the UK that run Micros? Does anyone know of any?

Just to update this thread, I do run my own club in Stocksbridge, north of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, but I was wondering if there were any Micro clubs nearer than those in the south eg Manchester or do any of the clubs in the Midlands race Micros?

how many people you have racing micros there peter on a race night and when?

i live i wakefield and haven't seen any micro clubs up here..altho im sure any club would run them if there was enough to make a heat up.

Hi Dave, long time no chat - We race weekly on a Thursday night between 7pm - 9pm/10pm . At the moment at best we are getting six in total. A year ago we had a full heat of ten cars, but some people have moved on. There will be one or two new racers soon. We currently have about 20 people max at our meetings, the size of our hall limits this, the actual hall is used for the track, but there's not so much room for pitting. Because we are into Micros ourselves, we will always run a heat so long as there are two cars, as we do have time on the night. They are good fun, but trying to get more people running them is difficult, I try and explain that they are cheaper to run, less batteries etc., but the people already have 1/10 cars.
Of the drivers currently racing Micro's, we're mostly at different skill levels, two of us are fairly well matched, but if we can't be there together, there's not much of a race!

Well you would have me racing with you if I didnt live so far away. Traveling from London would be hard :P

Curently in my area there are 3 main clubs. One of which is already racing HPI micros alongside 1/10th, another which is considering putting on a heat for 1/18th in general. The third hasnt expressed an interest in 1/18th but if enough peple showed up im sure they would put on a heat.

As far as I know the first club (Stevenage) only allow HPI cars but if xray cars could be run too id be there in a flash (well a flash after I have bought the car! ::))
