Hello there
I have been thinking of trading my cyclone in for an 08 for a while now, i want to get all the right bits and bobs from the off. Im after a bit of advice of what spares people think most likely to need and any other hop ups that are worth getting? Any advice will be a big help:)
Cheers,
Terry

Hey Terry, I don't find any hop-ups neccesary, but as for spares, I find the steering arms tend to take a beating when you drive like I do :)
Other than that it's pretty much set.

Hi Terry
The only things I have had an issue with is the rear hubs as the thread can get pulled out. You need to make sure you use the correct length screws when adding shims under the rear links.
I have also found that HPI silver springs work great for rear and pink on the fronts for both indoors and outside.

Having run 2 cars for 6 months, spares I carry are
Belts - you will get through more running the 2.375 IR ,as we do
Pack of the 3.5mm drive shaft tabs for the rear diff
Steering arms - I find these much much better than on the T2 even though they are the same part! Because...
And the main problem is the pin connecting the drive shaft to the axle(on the front) coming loose. This can chew up the inside of the steering arm. Not often but I have had to replace 2 steering arms becauseof this. So
pack of 2.5 mm grub screws
pack of the 9.5mm square ended pins
a number of the couplings (cannot recall proper name) used to join the drive shaft to the axle.
I also now always have 1 or 2 completed axle/drive shaft assemblies ready to slot straight in at the track if one of the pins does come loose. Reduces the pressure of a frantic repair in between finals on club days with not that much time between rounds.
No hop ups to date, it has eveything; but I do have the new aluminium shocks on order

Thanks for the advice.
Ive ordered the car now, and trying to get it up and running for the weekend. What dp comes with the kit 64/48? I want to run 5cell and 10.5 lipo with 64dp, can anyone advise what spurs sizes to get to cover most things?
Are the alu shocks and new top deck worth investing in?
Cheers guys.
