View Full Version : black springs and plastic shocks
Hi All, i have been racing the 008 for a few months now and have just come accross a problem with the newer style black springs. ie they dont fit the lower platforms very well ( a loose fit inside and out ) this is causing the spring to rub the lower cap that retains the o'rings and maybe causing the suspension to bind at times. has anyone else noticed the same thing and come up with a cure?
cheers Graham

I have found using HPI springs better pink front silver rear. These work great on carpet and outdoors.

Haven't noticed anything on mine guys although I have not been looking. I'll check tonight; let's compare notes on Sunday although I suspect our geometry will be pretty much the same.

personaly iv had no issues with the US spec car as the springs are slightly smaller diameter but with the EU spec car iv had the spring actualy pop over the lower cap after a bit of impact (hit a kerb and landed right way up but on one wheel) when using the stiffer c3.0 and c 3.2 springs, may have just been a freak one off as iv never done anything in order to try and prevent it happening again and it has never happened again since despite a number of similar impacts since
